BOUANGA LEADS AN ELECTRIFYING ROUT FOR LAFC!

LAFC

LOS ANGELES - On the back of a Denis Bouanga brace was a statement 5-0 rout of Nashville SC Saturday at BMO Stadium. LAFC earns their first win since the season opener.

Bouanga’s first goals of the season came between an early Timothy Tillman finish in the 9’ and a second half Christian Olivera shot in the 74’ before the LAFC faithful. Franchise legend Eduard Atuesta added one more for good measure in second half stoppage.

Tillman’s goal came on a quick-reaction tap-in from a corner set piece in front of the 3252, breaking the three-game scoreless streak to roaring cheers.

It was a physical game in Los Angeles, both teams eating grass and taking contact.

Nashville’s goalkeeper Joe Willis earned a red card in the 62’ after attacking the ball outside the box, keeping Nashville at ten men for the latter two LAFC goals.

Bouanga’s first goal came on a penalty after a 17’ foul on Tillman, who has now notched two goals for the season.

Bouanga’s second marked a return to form for the attacker. He played through Nashville defense all game to earn him his brace. A foul in the opening minutes from Nashville’s Shaq Moore (yellow card) sent him to the ground in pain but he shook it off quickly.

Atuesta finished on a header after a cross from Bouanga in stoppage, punctuating the night with a bang and giving the season a much-needed jolt for the Black & Gold.

Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris made two saves to earn a clean sheet as Nashville only shot on target twice.

Cherundolo’s side can look to the future now from more secure ground as LAFC sits middle of the table with 7 points to end the first full month of the regular season.

LAFC visits Colorado Saturday.
